Abstract

This study examines the implementation of educational and religious activity programs in strengthening the character of young people in Nagari Tiku Utara, Tanjung Mutiara District, Agam Regency. The study was motivated by the challenges of globalization and technological development, which have affected youth morality, social awareness, discipline, and religious values. Using a qualitative approach with Participatory Action Research (PAR), the research involved community participation in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and direct participation in community activities. The findings indicate that anti-bullying education, Qur’anic learning activities in Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA), Isra’ Mi’raj commemorations, and the documentation of worship facilities contributed positively to strengthening the social, spiritual, and civic character of youth. These programs enhanced empathy, tolerance, discipline, religious awareness, and community responsibility. Overall, educational and religious activities grounded in local cultural values proved effective in fostering character development and social cohesion among the younger generation. Therefore, collaboration among schools, religious leaders, local governments, and communities is essential to ensure the sustainability of such character-building initiatives.
